I couldn't find a novel that explores the life of Athena from ancient to modern times. It's strange that more hasn't been written about her, since she is a favorite for many lovers of Greek mythology.
What if Athena and Prometheus were in love?
Not a fan of Athena being revered as a "virgin goddess" (it's misogynistic, in my opinion--we don't revere "virgin gods"), I set out to explain her virginity with a tragic love story between her and Prometheus amid undertones of rebellion and revolution. A time leap to modern times forces Athena to choose sides, leading to her ultimate happily-ever-after. The love story is the new twist, but everything else about this complete chronicle of Athena's life is pretty much true to canon.
I'm turning to Kickstarter to gauge interest in a deluxe hardcover edition of ATHENA with gold foiling, interior art, and sprayed edges and a 35-card book-themed oracle deck.
